Why it means that

To suit or match something

~に合あわせて means “in accordance with” or “to suit.” It shows that something is changed or selected so it fits a person, purpose, time, or situation. ~に合あった + noun describes something that already suits it, as in 自分じぶんに合あった仕事しごと.
